G.726 G.726 is an implementation of ITU-T G.726 standard for conversion linear or A-law or µ-law PCM to and from a 40, 32, 24 or 16 kbit/s channel. The specification uses Adaptive Differential Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM) technique which is applicable to all waveforms, high-quality audio, modem data etc. This recommendation includes the G.721 and G.723 recommendations of the CCITT (The International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee).
