Acoustic Echo Canceller (AEC)
Acoustic Echo Cancellers are used to cancel out the echo produced
by the acoustic path between the speaker and microphone in hands-free telephone and
video/audio conferencing solutions (mobile phones, Speaker Phones, IP Phones).
Acoustic echo is caused due to the reflections from the walls and objects present
in the environment (for example, echo from inside of a car for hands free telephone
or room walls for conferencing solutions). Ittiam's Acoustic Echo Canceller (AEC)
is a proprietary algorithm to remove the acoustic echo from speech.
Technical Specification
- Efficient adaptive algorithm removes the echo and enhances the speech quality
- Robust double talk detection (can detect double talk even in presence of 20 dB gain in the echo path)
- Fast convergence ( > 20 db / sec)
- Programmable filter length (delay)
- ITU-T G.167 compliant
- Comfort Noise Generator (CNG)
- Non-Linear Processor (NLP) for reducing non-linear residual echo
- Reentrant, multi-channel implementation
- C callable APIs
Applications
- IP Phones / Speaker Phones / Video Phones / Feature Phones
- Multimedia / Telecommunication products
- Audio Conferencing / Video Conferencing
- Handsfree systems
Platforms
- Currently supported on TI C64x (TMS320C64xx) and TI C64x+/DaVinci (DM644x)
